Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Government has launched the Chief Minister's Research Fellowship (CMRF) scheme to support qualified postgraduate students in pursuing advanced research.

The scholarship is open to students enrolled in State Universities and Government Colleges across Tamil Nadu. Selection is based on a merit test conducted by the Teacher Recruitment Board.

This year, four postgraduate students from Coimbatore Agricultural University have been awarded the CMRF grant for 2023-24. The recipients are Priyadarshini (Environmental Science), Karthika (Agricultural Meteorology), Mohanapriya (Crop Pathology), and Ilamathi (Agricultural Economics).

Each student will receive ₹25,000 per month for three years under the fellowship.

Higher Education Minister K. Ponmudy presented the scholarship orders during the ceremony.

The event was attended by University Vice-Chancellor Geethalakshmi, Dean Suresh Kumar, and faculty members, who congratulated the awardees on their achievement.
