Chennai: In the ongoing engineering counselling process in Tamil Nadu, provisional allotment orders have been issued to 63,729 candidates during the second round.

The online counselling for Tamil Nadu's engineering colleges, aimed at filling 1.80 lakh seats, is being conducted in three phases.

The first phase, which concluded on the 10th of this month, saw 19,922 candidates securing seats across general and vocational courses.

The second phase commenced on August 10th, with 77,948 candidates called for counselling. Of these, 62,270 opted for their preferred courses, resulting in 55,875 provisional allotment orders being issued.

Additionally, in the 7.5% quota reserved for government school students, 8,738 candidates participated, with 7,854 receiving allotment orders.

The third and final phase of counselling is scheduled to begin on August 23rd and will continue until September 4th.
