Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced a major change in the Group 2A main examination process.
The exam will now be conducted using the OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) method instead of the computer-based system.
The preliminary examination for 2,540 vacancies in Group 2 and Group 2A categories was held on September 14, and results were declared on December 12.
The main exams are set to follow, with the second paper originally planned as computer-based.
TNPSC has now revised this approach, opting for the OMR method for Group 2A posts. Additionally, updates have been made to the syllabus for General Tamil and General English for Group 2 and 2A exams, as well as the syllabus for the Integrated Civil Services Examination-IV Tamil Eligibility and Assessment Test.
The updated syllabus is available on the official TNPSC website http://tnpsc.gov.in/tamil/syllabus.html and https://tnpsc.gov.in/english/syllabus.html
It is noteworthy that TNPSC had previously canceled a computerized exam for the recruitment of Asst Public Prosecutor, Level-II post, due to technical issues.
