Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) will hold the Combined Civil Services Examination-II (Group-II & IIA Services) Preliminary Examination on September 14, 2024.

In preparation, TNPSC Chairman conducted a video conference with all district collectors to review arrangements for the examination.

This OMR-based exam is set to fill 2,327 vacancies, with 7,93,947 candidates provisionally admitted to appear at 2,763 venues across 38 districts in Tamil Nadu.

In a video conference meeting held, the Chairman of TNPSC engaged with district collectors to review the arrangements for the examination. Key discussions included coordination with various departments such as Revenue, Police, Fire, Electricity, Transport, Health, and Treasury. The appointment of Deputy Collectors and Tahsildars was emphasized to ensure smooth coordination.

Further, the Chairman reviewed the deployment of adequate invigilators, inspection staff, mobile teams, police escorts, and videographers. Critical focus was given to infrastructure readiness, including seating arrangements for differently-abled candidates. The meeting also covered key directives, including the mandatory possession of valid identity cards and hall tickets, the strict adherence to examination timings, and a prohibition on electronic devices.

A detailed plan was also discussed regarding packing and secure transportation of examination materials. All involved personnel were briefed on their duties to ensure the examination is conducted smoothly and securely.
