Chennai: The London-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) organization, renowned for its research on higher education institutions, has published its annual global rankings.

These rankings evaluate universities worldwide, spanning regions such as Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

This year's list features 1,744 universities, with VIT University securing the 396th position globally.

Remarkably, the university has climbed 53 spots compared to last year's rankings.

At the national level, VIT has achieved a significant milestone, ranking 8th among Indian universities.

The QS rankings also assess institutions under the global sustainability category, focusing on environmental impact, social influence, and governance.

Notably, IIT-Delhi in India and the University of Toronto in Canada are among the globally ranked universities in this category.
