Puducherry: The Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Pondicherry University, has launched its 15th Faculty Induction Programme (FIP), which will be held from February 3 to March 2, 2026.

The four-week programme was inaugurated at the UGC-MMTTC campus, with faculty members from various parts of the country participating.

Prof K Tharanikkarau, Director, SEI&RR, Pondicherry University, presided over the inaugural function and stressed the need to equip teachers with recent developments, particularly in artificial intelligence and pedagogy. He also underlined the importance of aligning teaching practices with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Delivering the inaugural address, Prof P P Mathur, former Vice-Chancellor of Birla Global University, highlighted the role of faculty in higher education, the growing influence of AI in teaching and research, and the challenges of understanding students' mindset and behaviour.

Prof P G Arul, Director, UGC-MMTTC, welcomed the participants, while Dr K Srujana proposed a vote of thanks.
