London: Three education technology tools from India have made it to the top 10 finalists of the inaugural Global EdTech Prize, which recognises impactful and innovative learning solutions worldwide.
Pragati from Room to Read India Trust, Gurukul from Avanti Fellows, and LEAD Learning System from LEAD Group were named among the finalists earlier this week.
The prize, launched by UK-based T4 Education in partnership with Owl Ventures and Digital Promise, aims to spotlight solutions addressing critical challenges in classrooms globally. Winners will be selected across three categories — Non-Profits, Start-Ups, and Majors — and announced at the World Schools Summit in Abu Dhabi in November.
“In using technology to solve the greatest challenges in education, you are making a difference to so many lives. The Global EdTech Prize gives you the platform to scale that impact,” said Vikas Pota, Founder of T4 Education and the prize.
Judged by educators, the prize offers a platform to help organisations scale their tools and services to boost global impact.
Pragati, an assessment app for foundational literacy and numeracy, has gained recognition after its classroom monitoring component was adopted by the Uttarakhand government statewide over the past two years.
Gurukul, developed by Avanti Fellows and powered by Capgemini, is one of India's largest free online test prep platforms. Launched in 2024, it is a mobile-first, open-source platform suited to low-resource settings.
Both Pragati and Gurukul are finalists in the Non-Profits category.
LEAD, selected in the Majors category, has been recognised for transforming budget private schools into high-performing institutions. Its system integrates curriculum design, lesson planning, teacher training, monitoring, and remediation into a user-friendly model for teachers, students, school leaders, and parents.
All 10 global finalists will be invited to the World Schools Summit to present their work before an Expert Panel comprising education and tech leaders, investors, and policymakers.
The panel will shortlist three finalists in each category, who will then present before educators. Winners will be chosen by secret ballot and announced live on November 16.
