New Delhi: Around 4,000 out of 7,008 eligible institutions under the Ministry of Education's One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) scheme have yet to receive benefits, a parliamentary panel has flagged.

The Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports, headed by Congress MP Digvijaya Singh, directed the ministry to furnish updated information on ONOS's current status.

The panel noted that despite the scheme's approval and implementation, accelerated rollout is needed. Its 364th report on the Higher Education Department's budget (FY 24-25) pointed out the delay in benefits reaching many institutions.

The committee also observed that the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) Act, 2023, though established, did not utilise its budgeted funds in the previous financial year. The Executive Council had provided strategic direction, but the foundation's spending remained nil.

The panel has asked for an update on ANRF's current functioning and any initiatives taken.
