Personal details of students from government and private schools have been uploaded on EMIS (Education Management Information System), an education management platform. Details like Name, Parent's name, Address, Blood group, School details, etc., are available on EMIS website.
In this situation, schools have been directed to issue 'Transfer Certificates' only through digital means to students transferring from one school to another using their EMIS details.
Based on this, the task of preparing 'Transfer Certificates' for students moving to other schools and students completing school studies is being carried out.
On examination of students' details for this purpose, officials stepped on several duplications of data and fake data entered by schools on the website. 
In this way, about 50,000 data were found to be inconsistent.
This issue was discussed in a meeting of Chief Education Officers held in Chennai, and was advised to remove the wrong data from the registration and to conduct the admission of new students based only on old EMIS numbers.
