Chennai: Admissions have opened for certificate programs in Government District Music Schools for Art and Culture for the academic year 2024-2025. These schools are located in 17 districts across the state of Tamil Nadu.
Eligibility criteria for the programs offered in the music schools include a pass in class VII and being between the ages of 13 to 25.
Programs offered include Vocals, Nadhaswaram, Thavil, Devaram, Bharatanatyam, Violin, and Mridangam.
Candidates need to pay Rs 25 for joining and a special fee of Rs 325 each year. All students will be provided with a scholarship of Rs 400 per month for a period of 10 months each year.
These music schools are located in Kanchipuram, Thiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Salem, Erode, Karur, Trichy, Pudukottai, Perambalur, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Sirkazhi, Thiruvarur, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Tuticorin, and Tirunelveli.
Application forms can be obtained directly from the Principal of the District Music School or through the post by requesting with a self-addressed envelope affixed with a Rs 10 stamp.
