Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Monday announced the results of the Intermediate (Class 12) examinations, recording an overall pass percentage of 85.19.

State Education Minister Sunil Kumar said 86.23 per cent of girls and 84.09 per cent of boys cleared the exam. A total of 13.04 lakh students had appeared for the annual examination.

“This is the eighth consecutive time that Bihar has announced Intermediate results before any other state in the country,” he said.

According to the BSEB, 5,16,928 students secured first division, 5,11,744 obtained second division, and 82,425 passed with third division.

Of the 26 top five rank holders across streams, 19 are girls. While a boy topped the science stream, girls secured top positions in the arts and commerce streams.

BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor said Aditya Prakash Aman from Samastipur topped the science stream with 481 marks (96.2 per cent). In the arts stream, Nishu Kumari from Gaya district secured the top rank with 479 marks (95.8 per cent), while Aditi Kumari from Patna topped commerce with 480 marks (96 per cent).

The minister said the evaluation process was completed within 25 days using technology, ensuring fairness and transparency.

Students who failed or are dissatisfied with their results can apply for re-evaluation from March 25 to April 2. Eligible candidates can also appear for compartmental examinations, the board said.
