Chennai: Students of class VIII can apply for National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination ( NMMS) from 12, Jan 2022 onwards, an official statement said. The Centrally Sponsored Scheme “National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS)†was launched in May, 2008 with the objective to award scholarships to meritorious students of economically weaker sections to arrest their drop out at class VIII and encourage them to continue the study at secondary stage. The statement from the Director, Tamil Nadu Government Examination said that students can download the application form from 12 to 27, Jan 2022 at www.dge.tn.gov.in Last date to submit filled application forms is 27, Jan 2022. The examination is scheduled to be held on 5, March 2022. Fee towards the exam is fixed as Rs50/ Students should submit the filled application to the heads of their respective schools in which they are studying. Students are advised to wear masks and maintain social distance while submitting the filled application form. Advertisement
