Ahmedabad: CEPT University in Ahmedabad hosted a Global South Academic Conclave on WASH and Climate Linkages from February 2nd to 4th, 2024. Organized by CWAS, CRDF, and CEPT's Faculty of Planning in collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the event brought together 350 participants from 30 countries, with 700 more joining virtually. The focus was on the interconnection of water, sanitation, hygiene, and climate change. The conclave featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, and paper presentations, emphasizing cross-learning and peer-to-peer insights. Themes covered climate mitigation, adaptation, policies, finance, and inclusivity in infrastructure. The event concluded with cultural activities, garba, and field visits exploring Ahmedabad's heritage and slum improvement impacts. For more information, visit https://cwas.org.in/globalsouthacademicconclave.
