Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra): CJP convenor Abhijeet Dipke on Friday demanded a probe into the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority's (MMRDA) Junior Engineer recruitment exam, claiming that some candidates who had scored very low marks elsewhere did extremely well in this test.

Further, many of those who were among the top scorers had taken the MMRDA exam at the Nagpur centre, Dipke claimed, speaking to reporters at his residence here.

Students who did not secure good marks in similar examinations conducted by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) were among the top scorers in the MMRDA exam, Dipke said, adding that several other candidates have sought a judicial inquiry into the matter.

"A candidate received 70 and 9 marks in BMC and PMC exams, respectively, and got 196 marks in MMRDA test. The gap between these exams was just 10-12 days," he said.

Out of 16 toppers, thirteen are from the same examination centre in Nagpur, he claimed.
