Chennai: DOT School of Design signed an agreement with Leather Sector Skill Council (LSSC) to open a Center of Excellence at DOT in Ambattur.
DOT School of Design and the Leather Sector Skill Council (LSSC) decided to form a cooperative industrial association to meet the demand for skilled workforce in the leather industry in India.
An agreement was signed to jointly open a Center of Excellence at DOT in Ambattur, in the presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of India and L. Murugan, Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, and Braodcasting of India.
The Leather Sector Skill Council is a non-profit organization committed to meet the demand for trained labor in India's leather industry.
Established in 2012, LSSC's key objective is to facilitate development of skilled human resources needed for sustained growth of the leather and leather goods industry.
DOT School of Design, 1st exclusive multidisciplinary design college in Chennai, was instituted by design professionals and architects, offering Professional (Bachelors & Masters) Degree and Diploma courses in six Design disciplines.
LSSC found the infrastructure with required machine, tools and consumables at DOT to be capable to run training programs for upskilling the workforce in the Leather sector of India.
