New Delhi: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will lead the Fit India Sundays on Cycle special edition celebrating World Teachers' Day at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on October 5.
The event, which has evolved into a people's movement promoting health and sustainability, will see the participation of hundreds of teachers, students, and citizens.
“Let us celebrate our gurus who shape the nation on this World Teachers' Day. I urge every citizen, young and old, to join tomorrow's Fit India Sundays on Cycle and pledge to stay healthy and fit while striving for an AtmaNirbhar Bharat,” Dr. Mandaviya said in his message.
Adding star appeal to the event will be several renowned athletes and fitness icons, including:
Sachin Yadav, Asian silver medallist in javelin and finalist at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
Tania Sachdev, International Master, Woman Grandmaster, and two-time Indian Women's Chess Champion.
Abhishek Nain, Olympic bronze medallist (Paris 2024) and key member of India's Asia Cup 2025-winning hockey team.
Rohtash Chaudhary, popularly known as the “Push-up Man of India.”
Around 1,000 participants, including representatives from the Education Department, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, and Lady Shri Ram College, are expected to join the rally.
The October 5 edition pays tribute to teachers for their pivotal role in shaping young minds while reinforcing the Fit India motto — “Ek Ghanta Roz, Khel Ke Saath.”
