Krishnagiri: Raiding a school at Mathur in Krishnagiri, The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seized unaccounted cash of Rs. 24,550.
According to DVAC, following complaints from the Parents Teachers Association of a Government School, the investigators found that the Headmaster in-charge A. Lakshmanan in possession of Rs. 23, 650 and M. Perumal, a secondary grade teacher, Rs. 900.
The DVAC has recommended to the Education Department in initiate departmental action against Lakshmanan and Perumal.
It was found that the unaccounted money was collected to issue transfer certificates to students.
The Directorate of School Education, Chennai would take action against the erring teachers based on the report from the Education Department.
