Hyderabad: The English and Foreign Languages University(EFLU) has invited applications for admission to its PhD programmes for the 2025-26 academic session through an all-India entrance test for non-NET candidates, as per an official notification.

The central university, with campuses in Hyderabad, Shillong and Lucknow, said candidates who have qualified UGC-NET/JRF under an earlier notification need not apply again and will be called directly for interviews, subject to validity of their fellowship.

Applications opened on March 25 and will close on April 15, 2026. The entrance examination is tentatively scheduled for June 13, followed by declaration of results on June 19 and interviews from June 25 to July 24, the university said, adding that the dates are subject to change.

The university is offering PhD programmes across disciplines including English literature, linguistics and phonetics, media and communication, cultural studies, education, and several foreign languages such as French, German, Spanish, Russian and Arabic.

Entrance test centres will be held in Hyderabad, Shillong, Lucknow and New Delhi, subject to a minimum number of candidates.

The final selection list is expected on July 31, with admissions likely between August 5 and 10. The academic session is scheduled to commence from August 12, according to the notification.
