Chennai: The Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), a premier institution established by the Central government, has invited applications for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the academic year 2026.

FDDI, recognised as an Institution of National Importance, offers specialised courses in footwear design, fashion, and retail management across its campuses located in cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Noida, Rae Bareli, Rohtak, Jodhpur, Chhindwara, Guna, Surat, and Patna.

At the undergraduate level, the institute offers four-year programmes such as Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in Footwear Design and Production, Leather, Lifestyle and Product Design, and Fashion Design, along with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Retail and Fashion Merchandise.

For postgraduate aspirants, FDDI provides two-year programmes including Master of Design (M.Des) in Footwear Design and Production and Fashion Design, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Retail and Fashion Merchandise.

Candidates seeking admission to B.Des programmes must have passed Class 12 or possess a three-year diploma. Applicants should not exceed 25 years of age as on July 1, 2026. For M.Des programmes, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline, with specific subject requirements for Footwear Design and Production.

Admissions will be conducted through the All India Selection Test (AIST), followed by counselling for shortlisted candidates.

The last date for submission of applications is April 20, 2026, while the AIST examination is scheduled to be held on May 10, 2026.
