Chennai: Admissions to four-year integrated B.Sc., B.Ed. and B.A., B.Ed. programmes in colleges of education across Tamil Nadu will be discontinued from the आगामी academic year, the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University has said.

In a circular issued to college principals and managements, Registrar Rajasekaran stated that as per revised norms of the National Council for Teacher Education, the programmes stand withdrawn from the 2026-27 academic session.

“No institution is permitted to admit students to these courses henceforth,” the circular said.

Accordingly, colleges affiliated to the university will not be allowed to conduct admissions for these programmes from the coming academic year.

The university has also cautioned that it will not be responsible for any admissions made in violation of these norms, the circular added.
