New Delhi: The central government has issued a warning to users of older versions of the Google Chrome browser, cautioning that cybercriminals may exploit security flaws to steal personal information.

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has flagged vulnerabilities in outdated Chrome versions on Windows operating systems.

In an advisory, CERT-In stated that these security loopholes could allow hackers to gain unauthorized access to sensitive data. Users are urged to update their browsers to the latest version to mitigate potential risks.

CERT-In, the national agency for cybersecurity, monitors and responds to cyber threats, including hacking, data breaches, and system disruptions.
