Chennai: IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has announced a nationwide initiative to provide free 'Career Counselling Certification Training' to 30,000 teachers and educators across India.
The program, offered online in collaboration with BodhBridge Education—a company founded by IIT Madras alumni—aims to equip teachers to guide students better in making informed career choices, especially in underserved regions.
The training will enable teachers to conduct career guidance sessions and one-on-one counselling for their students, supported by comprehensive materials and resources provided by IITM Pravartak. So far, 4,215 teachers from 22 states and Union Territories have enrolled, with 976 successfully certified.
Highlighting the importance of the program, Balamurali Shankar, Chief Knowledge Officer at IITM Pravartak, said, “Teachers play a crucial role in shaping students' futures. This initiative ensures every child gets timely, personalised career guidance.”
The next training batch begins on July 4, 2025, with registrations closing on July 2. Interested teachers and institutions can apply at bodhbridge.iitmpravartak.org.in/counselors.php.
The program is open to school teachers, principals, college faculty, educators, and counsellors, with optional certification available for a nominal fee.
BodhBridge has collaborated with IIT Madras on multiple career guidance initiatives, focusing on rural students over the past decade.
