Chennai: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has invited applications for its web-enabled M.Tech and postgraduate diploma programmes aimed at working professionals and fresh graduates seeking flexible postgraduate education opportunities.

The institute said applications for the programmes will remain open till May 31, 2026, and interested candidates can apply through the official portal. Entrance examinations are scheduled to be held during June and July, while academic sessions will commence in August or September 2026.

According to IIT Madras, applicants for the M.Tech programmes must have a relevant educational background and at least two years of work experience. The PG Diploma programmes are open to graduates, including freshers, with preference for candidates from relevant academic streams.

Dean (Academic Courses) Prof Prathap Haridoss said the programmes focus on project-based learning, enabling participants to align academic work with real-world industry challenges.

He said the courses are structured to allow learners to pursue higher education without relocating or taking a break from their careers, with classes conducted through live online sessions during evenings or weekends.

The programmes cover disciplines such as Aerospace Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Analytics, Mechanical Engineering, E-Mobility and Process Safety.
