Chennai: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has invited applications from Class IX students for its Young Scientist Programme 'YUVIKA', aimed at fostering interest in space science and technology among school students.

The initiative seeks to nurture young talent and encourage careers in space research and related fields. Selected students will receive training in space science, technology, research and career opportunities in the sector.

Students currently studying in Class IX can apply for the programme till March 31. The selection list will be published on April 13 based on their Class VIII academic performance and scores obtained in an online quiz.

The training programme will be conducted from May 11 to May 22 at various ISRO centres across the country.

ISRO said the programme is part of its efforts to promote scientific temper and inspire the next generation to contribute to India's space missions and technological advancement.
