JIPMER holds preventive vigilance training

Chennai: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, on Tuesday conducted a Preventive Vigilance Training Programme as part of the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, in line with the guidelines of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
The programme was held at the Conference Hall of the Super Speciality Block and was organised by the Capacity Building Unit (CBU), JIPMER. It was conducted under the guidance of JIPMER Director Vir Singh Negi and the supervision of Ravi Kumar Chittoria, Officer-in-Charge of the CBU, and Deputy Director (Administration) Rangabashiam.
The training was coordinated by Chief Vigilance Officer Nanda Kishore Maroju, with administrative support from Senior Administrative Officer Hawa Singh.
The session was led by Amrithalingam V, former Director of Accounts and Treasuries, Government of Puducherry. He shared insights on preventive vigilance, ethical governance, financial propriety, transparency and accountability in public administration. The presentation focused on proactive vigilance measures and best practices aimed at preventing irregularities and strengthening institutional integrity.
Around 100 employees from various departments and sections of JIPMER participated in the programme, reflecting the institute's emphasis on capacity building and ethical conduct.
The initiative is part of JIPMER's ongoing efforts to enhance awareness on vigilance-related matters and to promote a culture of integrity and good governance within the institution, officials said.
