Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a supervisory and monitoring committee to ensure fair and merit-based selection to professional courses in state's government and private colleges.
A Supervisory and Monitoring Constitutional Statutory Committee has been constituted to ensure fair, transparent and non-exploitative merit-based selection to professional courses like medical and engineering in both government and private colleges of the state.
Currently, students are selected for the professional courses in government and three private colleges of the state through a common entrance test organised by Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination.
They added that now the list of candidates selected through CET would be forwarded to the Chairman of the supervisory and monitoring committee, who will the select final list for majority/minority/quota seats on merit-basis.
Other colleges like ASCOMS, Jammu Institute of Dental College (Sehora) and Institute of Ayurveda have also formed an association of colleges for the selection of candidates.
