Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is going to have a new government medical college after a long gap. The last government medical college came into existence in 1968.
The new medical college will be operational from this academic year at Sagar.
A Medical Council of India (MCI) team is likely to visit the under construction building of the college by the first week of June, before giving its approval to start first year MBBS classes.
Hostels with the accommodation facility for 150 students have nearly been completed. Besides, a 750-bedded-hospital, part of the college with an estimated cost of Rs.145 crore is also scheduled to come up over an area of 30 acres in the city.
