'It is because of the continuous effort of the Directorate of Education of the Delhi Government that government schools have been able to do so well,'said Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely.

Last year, there was a 2.11 per cent difference in pass percentages between government schools and private schools.

This year, government schools have shown an improvement of 1.44 per cent, while private schools showed a decline of 0.64 per cent.

'This shows that money is not a criteria for good education.' Lovely said Delhi government schools have also secured the highest position among all CBSE schools for the third successive year.

'While the pass percentage of aided schools was 78.61 per cent, this year it is 75.68 per cent,' Lovely said. 'If their standards continue declining, we may have to take action.'Only setback for government schools was the 100 pass percentage, which stood at 50 schools as against 70 last year.
