New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday invited online applications for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG) 2026 for admission to undergraduate medical courses in medical institutions across the country.
NTA conducts NEET (UG) as a common and uniform entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions in India.
The NEET (UG) 2026 scores and merit list will also be applicable for admissions to BDS and BVSc & AH courses, in line with existing rules of the respective regulatory bodies.
Further, NEET (UG) serves as the single entrance test for admission to undergraduate courses of the Indian System of Medicine, including BAMS, BUMS and BSMS. The examination will also be applicable for admission to the BHMS course under the National Commission for Homeopathy.
Candidates aspiring to join the Military Nursing Service (MNS) through the four-year B.Sc. Nursing programme conducted at Armed Forces Medical Services hospitals for the academic year 2026 are required to qualify in NEET (UG).
Key dates:
Online application begins: February 8, 2026
Last date to submit application: March 8, 2026 (up to 9 pm)
Last date for fee payment: March 8, 2026 (up to 11.50 pm)
Application correction window: March 10 to March 12, 2026
NEET (UG) 2026 examination: May 3, 2026
Exam timing: 2 pm to 5 pm (IST)
Duration: 180 minutes
The examination will be conducted in 13 languages — Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
The application fee for centres in India is ₹1,700 for General category candidates, ₹1,600 for General-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates, and ₹1,000 for SC, ST, PwBD and third gender candidates. For examination centres outside India, the fee is ₹9,500, excluding processing charges and applicable GST.
Details regarding city intimation slips, admit cards, display of recorded responses and answer keys, and declaration of results will be announced later on the official websites.
