New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu extended her greetings to teachers across the country on the eve of Teachers' Day, paying tribute to former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as the occasion.

In her message, the President described teachers as the guiding light of society and architects of the nation's future. “Through their wisdom, knowledge and values, they nurture generations of students and inspire them to pursue excellence and innovation,” she said.

Murmu said the role of teachers has become even more significant as India moves towards the goal of becoming a developed nation. She added that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 reflects the country's commitment to empowering teachers and strengthening the education system.

“Let us strive to create a favourable environment that honours teachers and fosters creativity, compassion and innovation in students,” she said.

The President conveyed her best wishes to the teaching community for success in building an enlightened generation of students who will lead India to greater heights.
