Moscow: India's Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar said that Russia has decided to hire more skilled Indian workers amid tightening immigration policies in countries like the US, Britain, and Canada.

Speaking on the development, Kumar said, “Indians in Russia are largely employed in the construction and textile sectors. Currently, Russian companies are showing interest in hiring Indian workers for high-skill sectors such as heavy machinery and electronics. The demand for skilled workers in Russia is significant, and India has a large talent pool to meet this need.”

He also noted that both countries are working to simplify money transactions for Indian tourists and students in Russia. “A system has been created in collaboration with the banking and financial teams of both countries to ensure seamless payments, including sending transaction alerts to mobile numbers,” Kumar added.

This initiative is expected to strengthen economic and professional ties between India and Russia while providing new opportunities for Indian skilled workers.
