Trichy: The schedule for school examinations in Tamil Nadu will be announced within a week, School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the Stalin Project - Camp with You in Trichy, the Minister said the state government's welfare initiatives, including the Ungal Thogudhiyil Mudhalvar scheme in Orani, have received strong support from the public. "Unable to digest the popularity of the scheme, some individuals have approached the court. Whatever the outcome, the government will act in accordance with the court's directions," he said.

On the education front, Mahesh said the Home Search Education Scheme, launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to support students who cannot afford private tuition, is being actively implemented. "Over six lakh educated individuals have come forward to contribute to society by participating in this initiative. The scheme enables them to mentor and support children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds," he said.
