Coimbatore: Schools in Tamil Nadu are set to reopen on June 2, marking the end of the summer vacation, the School Education Department confirmed.

Despite public anticipation of an extension, the reopening date remains unchanged.

With the reopening, students and staff who traveled to their hometowns for the vacation are expected to return, leading to increased passenger traffic in and around Coimbatore. To ease the commute, the State Transport Corporation will operate 120 special buses alongside regular services.

The special bus services include 20 buses from Coimbatore to Salem, 50 to Madurai, 25 to Theni, and 25 to Trichy. Additionally, 25 special buses will run from Ooty to support passenger demand.

Officials have urged passengers to make use of these special services to avoid congestion and ensure a smooth return to school.
