Cuddalore: A government higher secondary school in Cuddalore district arranged for students sporting the popular "Pullingo" hairstyle to have their hair trimmed on the school premises after they allegedly failed to comply with repeated instructions to maintain a neat appearance.

The incident took place at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School located in the District Chief Educational Office campus at Manjakuppam.

According to school authorities, some students had been attending classes with trendy hairstyles that did not conform to the school's grooming guidelines. Teachers had reportedly advised them on several occasions to get their hair cut in a neat and uniform manner, but the students failed to comply.

The school administration subsequently decided to arrange haircuts on the campus itself. With the assistance of Highway Patrol Sub-Inspector Thirumavalavan, barbers were brought to the school on Tuesday and the students' hair was trimmed inside their classrooms.

The initiative has drawn appreciation from several quarters, with many viewing it as an effort to reinforce discipline and maintain school norms. However, the incident has also sparked discussion on the extent to which educational institutions should regulate students' personal appearance.
