Amaravati: The sixth edition of the National EMRS Cultural and Literary Fest and Kala Utsav, UDBHAV 2025, concluded at KL University in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, with Telangana securing the top position in the overall medal tally.
Organised by the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and hosted by the Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society, the three-day event was held from December 3 to 5 and saw the participation of 1,558 tribal students from 22 States and Union Territories.
A total of 49 cultural, literary and creative competitions were conducted during the fest, highlighting the rich indigenous traditions of tribal communities through dance, music, theatre, visual arts and handicrafts. As many as 105 first, second and third prizes each were awarded, along with one overall state championship. Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh followed Telangana in the medal tally.
Addressing the valedictory function, Andhra Pradesh Ministers G Sandhya Rani, D S Swamy and Kandula Durgesh praised the performances of the students and reiterated the governments' commitment to tribal education and empowerment.
Winners from 12 selected categories will represent Eklavya Model Residential Schools at the National Kala Utsav to be held at YASHADA, Pune, officials said.
