Chennai: The student who secured the top rank in Tamil Nadu in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) has gained admission to the MBBS course at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published the results of the first round of All India Quota (AIQ) medical counselling on its official website, mcc.nic.in.

According to the list, Suryanarayanan, a student from Tirunelveli, scored 665 out of 720 marks in NEET, securing an All India Rank of 27 and the Tamil Nadu state topper position. He participated in the All India medical counselling process and successfully obtained a seat at AIIMS, New Delhi.

All candidates who ranked within the top 48 in NEET this year have opted for AIIMS Delhi.

Meanwhile, several other students from Tamil Nadu have secured MBBS seats in premier institutions, including Chennai Medical College, Madurai Medical College, and AIIMS Madurai, under the 15 per cent All India Quota.
