'There is a debate going on at the national level on Sibal's proposal and even in Tamil Nadu there is opposition and support to it. If Centre asks for the state government's suggestion, we will discuss and consult with all stakeholders and submit a report,' School Education Minister Thangam Tenarasu said in the assembly.

The examinations for sixth and eighth standards in state were already withdrawn, the minister said.
