Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has commenced admissions to its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes for the 2026-27 academic year, the university said on Thursday.

The programmes are being offered through the university's Directorate of Open and Distance Learning and include diploma, certificate and online certificate courses in agriculture and allied sectors.

According to the university, candidates completing the Diploma in Agricultural Inputs will be eligible to obtain a licence to establish fertiliser and pesticide retail outlets.

Students completing other diploma and certificate programmes can explore self-employment opportunities in areas such as horticultural nurseries, farm machinery and equipment, mushroom cultivation, bio-fertiliser production, biological pest and disease management, integrated farming, value addition of agricultural products and quality seed production.

Training classes for the Diploma in Agricultural Inputs and other diploma programmes will be conducted on weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays.
