Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) will conduct the OMR-based examination for posts under the Combined Civil Services Examination-II (Category II and IIA) on September 28, 2025.
According to the Commission, 5,53,634 candidates will take the test across 1,905 centres in all districts of Tamil Nadu. Of them, 4,47,421 have opted for General Tamil, while 1,06,213 have chosen General English as their optional subject.
To ensure smooth conduct, District Collectors will act as Chief Coordinators and District Revenue Officers as Joint Coordinators. Flying squads led by Deputy Collectors have been formed, and inspection officers have been deputed to each hall through the respective District Collectorates. All examination materials have been secured under prescribed protocols.
A total of 1,905 principal invigilators and room invigilators have been appointed, with one invigilator for every 20 candidates. Videography will be done to monitor activities on the examination day.
The Transport Department has arranged special buses to help candidates reach the centres. Security personnel have been deployed at all halls, while the Electricity Board has been instructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply. The Health Department will provide necessary medical support.
Candidates have been directed to reach their centres by 9 AM as per the admit card instructions. Entry will not be permitted after that time. They must carry their admit card and strictly follow the rules, including the ban on electronic devices, said an official release.
