Chennai: A short-term training course on Introduction to Heritage Conservation Paintings / Archival / Library / Palm-leaf ) is to be held for those who are employed in cultural institutions like museums, galleries, libraries,
archives, colleges, corporate offices and also to those who are interested in this field and students.
This course is slated for the period from 17th to 24th January 2023 (7 working days).
The following subjects will be handled by experts in the field. Introduction to Heritage Conservation, Introduction to Conservation, Preventive Conservation, Interventive Conservation, Introduction to Conservation of Different Heritage Materials, Introduction to Restoration of Heritage Materials, Disaster Management, Evaluation of Heritage Materials, Authentication of Heritage Materials, After Care and Maintenance, Dating of Heritage Materials, Laws Pertaining to Heritage Materials etc.
The Hepzibah Institute of Heritage Conservation, founded by Dr. V. Jeyaraj, former Curator, Chemical Conservation and Research Laboratory, Government Museum, trains interested persons in the field of conservation of heritage and museology with a view of safeguarding the cultural, artistic and written heritage.
It conducts regularly training programmes in conservation and museology in the Institute, arranges workshops and seminars in colleges and other cultural institutions besides delivering lectures in the field in various media. Then, it provides consultancy services in conservation of cultural heritage and museology to those who approach the Institute in this regard. 
Further, it carries out research in the field of conservation and museology and the outcomes are published as books.
