Chennai: Ninety school students from across Tamil Nadu, who secured top ranks in the national-level science aptitude examination Vidyaarthi Vigyaan Manthan (VVM), visited the CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC) here on Thursday as part of a one-day science field trip.

The students, selected as top three performers from each district, interacted with senior scientists at the institute during their visit. Dr S Maheswaran, Senior Principal Scientist, and Dr S Sundarakumar, Principal Scientist, engaged with the students and highlighted the importance of research and innovation in structural engineering.

The students expressed that the exposure to advanced research facilities and interaction with scientists significantly deepened their interest in science and research.

The visit was coordinated by VVM's South India Coordinator Kannabiran and Tamil Nadu Coordinators Rajendran and Syamala.
