Sruthi Palaniappan, whose parents migrated to the US from Chennai in 1992, has been appointed to head the undergraduate council at the prestigious Harvard university as announced by Undergraduate Council Election Commission. Along with her, Sruthi's running mate, Julia Huesa who is also a 20- year-old got appointed for the post of Vice President.

Both the woman had planned to work on improving the Council's communication with the student body in their initial days in office.
