A vaguely hourglass shaped icy object called Arrokoth residing in the far reaches of the solar system is giving scientists intriguing clues about the formation of the planets including Earth. Arrokoth, located in a region beyond the planet Neptune called the Kuiper Belt. Planetesimals like Arrokoth almost certainly served as the seeds for growing bigger worlds, including terrestrial planets like Earth and gas giants like Jupiter, the scientists said.
