India plans to launch own space station, K. Sivan, chairman of ISRO told a news conference. The space station, where astronauts can stay for 15 to 20 days, would be placed in an orbit of about 400 kilometres (kms) above the Earth. The space station would weigh 20 tonnes, Sivan added.
