Jan.23 - The Union Government displayed 100 files pertaining to the disappearance of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose at the National Archives in New Delhi on January 23. According to the files, in the year 1962 former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru had confirmed to the family members of Netaji that he was dead. It is also important to note that over the past week, a UK-based website - www.bosefiles.info has released a series of witness statements that tries to resolve the controversy over the death. This website is run by a UK- based independent journalist Ashis Ray, who is also Bose's grandnephew.
