The Indian Consulate in Hong Kong resonated with the soulful melodies of Carnatic Classical and Bhakti Sangeeta during a mesmerizing musical evening featuring renowned vocalist Dr. Rekha Sreeramachandra Murthy. She was accompanied by Shri Ram Sundhar Varadarajan on the mridangam and Shri Nikhil Ravichandran, a young talented violinist from Hong Kong.
Dr. Rekha, an accomplished Carnatic musician with a Ph.D. in Music from Mysore University, has dedicated her life to preserving and expanding the rich traditions of Indian classical music. Her musical journey has also led her to explore Hindustani music under the guidance of Pandit Chandrashekar Puranikmath, adding depth to her artistry.
The evening's performance in the presence of the Consul General Smt. Satwant Khanalia, was a perfect blend of devotion and technical brilliance, with Shri Ram Sundhar Varadarajan's rhythmic expertise on the mridangam and the soulful strains of Shri Nikhil Ravichandran's violin enhancing the experience.
