Passport Validity: Your passport should be valid for at least six months from the date you apply.
Visa Application Form: Complete the student visa / residence permit application form as required by the Iraqi consulate or immigration department.
Proof of Financial Support: You should show evidence you have enough funds to pay for tuition, living expenses, and sometimes return travel. It may be via bank statements, sponsor letters, etc.
Medical Examination & Health Requirements: Some universities or immigration require medical checks. If under a certain age (e.g. under 15), vaccination certificates (e.g. polio) may be needed.
Criminal Record / Character Certificate:
A police clearance or no‐criminal‐record certificate might be required.
Photographs: Passport-sized recent colour photographs as per specifications.
Visa Fees: Pay the required visa application fees. Ensure you know how much and where to pay.
Entry & Residence Permit: Once visa is approved, you may need to enter through official entry points. Then register or get a residence permit if your study duration is long.
Return Intent: Show proof or intention that you will return to your home country once studies are completed (sometimes required).
Check Language Requirements:
Some courses may require knowledge of Arabic or Kurdish or another language; ensure you meet those before applying. (Depends on course & university.)
Contact the Embassy / University: Always check with the Iraqi embassy/consulate in your country, and/or with the international student office of the university you plan to attend, to confirm specific documentation or rules.
