TGROC The Tamils of Greater Rochestor celebrated its 7th Anniversary and Tamil New Years Day (as Tamilar otrumai Vizha) as usual in a grand way on Sunday morning at India Community Center, Macedon with sumptuous lunch in the afternoon.
Starting from 9:30am after the Thamizh Thai Vazhthu, Welcome speech the event kicked off. It was an entertaining morning with singing, dancing, speech, skit, instrumental music by children and adults along with Tamil traditional Parai music. Thirukkural Translations in World Languages Book launch was done through the screened video by one of the author ValaiTamil founder Mr. Parthasarathy.
The audience had good time with Best dress, Dumbsmash and Oru Varthai Oru Sol competitions.
In between the event, the executive committee gave general updates and financial updates. Tamil school Principal explained the activities of the school.
The event ended with lunch. More than 100 attendees joined the event to celebrate the Tamil New Year with the community. It was another memorable day to all who partipated in the event.
