The Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) has opened admissions for its undergraduate programs for the academic year 2025-26.
In addition to the flagship veterinary medicine course, the university offers three B.Tech degree programs in allied sectors, all of which offer promising career opportunities in the field of animal husbandry and food production.
Courses Offered
TANUVAS offers the following undergraduate courses:
B.V.Sc. & A.H. - Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (5.5 years)
B.Tech. (Food Technology) - 4 years
B.Tech. (Poultry Technology) - 4 years
B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) - 4 years
These programs are designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for careers in veterinary care, food safety, dairy production, and poultry management.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or related Vocational Education subjects in Class 12.
For candidates applying under the Tamil Nadu state reservation quota, appearing for the NEET exam is not mandatory. However, for 15% of seats under the All India Quota, selection will be based on NEET scores.
Educational Institutions
TANUVAS operates seven veterinary colleges across Tamil Nadu, located in Chennai, Namakkal, Tirunelveli, Orathanadu, Salem, Udumalpet, and Theni.
In addition, the university has specialized institutions including:
College of Food and Dairy Technology, Chennai
College of Poultry Production and Management, Hosur
These institutions are well-equipped with modern laboratories, farms, and field training facilities.
How to Apply
Eligible candidates can apply online through the official admission portal: https://adm.tanuvas.ac.in.
Students who have completed their schooling in government schools of Tamil Nadu can apply under the 7.5% special quota.
Only native students of Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply for seats under the state reservation category.
Overseas Indians, children of NRIs, NRI sponsors, and foreign nationals must apply exclusively through the online mode under designated categories.
Selection Process
A rank list will be prepared based on the applicant's academic performance and applicable reservation criteria. Admissions will be offered accordingly, as per the order of merit.
