Main Objective
Environmental education helps people understand how the natural world functions, how human actions influence it, how to solve environmental challenges, and how to make responsible choices. Its main goal is to raise environmental awareness and equip people with the knowledge, skills, and commitment to safeguard nature.

It aims to make people aware of environmental issues and their effects on human life; to build understanding of natural ecosystems and sustainability; to develop the ability to explore environmental problems, find remedies, and take practical action; to nurture interest and dedication toward conservation; to motivate individuals and communities to take part in environmental decision-making; to encourage sustainable habits like recycling and saving energy among children and adults; to build capacity to address major global issues such as climate change; and to reconnect people with nature, fostering care and respect for the environment.

It nurtures eco-conscious citizens capable of making informed choices and preserving the planet.

Financial Assistance
To strengthen environmental education in schools and spark students' interest in protecting nature, the Union Ministry offers financial support to establish nature clubs in recognized schools.

A coordinating agency will manage over 20 clubs in one or more districts. This may be an educational body, NGO, or special organization. These networks will enable students to exchange ideas and knowledge on diverse environmental concerns.
